Privacy and Confidentiality

Your privacy and confidentiality are taken seriously. All communications and records relating to your care will be treated as confidential and managed in accordance with relevant Australian privacy legislation and professional ethical obligations.

Information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except where:

  • there is a legal obligation to disclose information;

  • there are concerns regarding risk of serious harm to yourself or others;

  • there are concerns relating to the safety or wellbeing of a child or vulnerable person; or

  • consultation is required for professional supervision or ethical practice purposes.

Where consultation or supervision occurs, identifying information will be minimised wherever possible.

Additional information regarding collection, storage, and use of your information is outlined within the Living Systems Health Privacy Policy and Consent documentation.

Confidentiality for Young People

Young people have the right to confidential communication within therapy sessions. Parents and carers will generally receive information relating to overall goals, themes, wellbeing, and support recommendations rather than detailed disclosures made during sessions.

Confidentiality may be limited where:

  • there are concerns regarding safety or risk;

  • mandatory reporting obligations apply; or

  • collaborative communication is clinically necessary to support the young person’s wellbeing.

Online Therapy and Communication

Living Systems Health primarily provides services online via secure telehealth platforms.

By engaging in online services, you acknowledge that:

  • online therapy carries some limitations and privacy risks associated with technology;

  • you are responsible for accessing sessions from a private and safe environment where possible;

  • a stable internet connection and suitable device are required for telehealth appointments;

  • sessions must not be recorded by either party without explicit consent.

Communication outside scheduled sessions is limited to administrative matters such as appointment scheduling, invoicing, or sharing resources.

Email and phone communication are monitored during business hours only and are not suitable for crisis support or urgent therapeutic care.

Further information regarding privacy and consent can be found at Living Systems Health Privacy Policy

Professional Development and Supervision

To maintain ethical and effective practice, I participate in regular professional supervision, consultation, continuing education, and reflective practice.

Occasionally, de-identified information may be discussed within professional supervision for the purposes of maintaining high standards of care and accountability.

Respectful and Collaborative Practice

Living Systems Health is committed to providing services that are:

  • respectful and non-judgemental;

  • collaborative and responsive to your goals and lived experience;

  • grounded in empathy, curiosity, and transparency;

  • supportive of your autonomy and decision-making capacity.

Clients are also expected to engage respectfully within the therapeutic relationship. Aggressive, abusive, discriminatory, or threatening behaviour may result in services being paused or terminated.

Appointments and Cancellations

Initial appointments are generally 60 minutes in duration. Ongoing appointments may vary depending on clinical needs and agreed service arrangements.

If you arrive late to an appointment, the session may need to finish at the scheduled time to avoid impacting subsequent appointments.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice where possible.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, or non-attendance without notice, may incur a cancellation fee.

If repeated missed appointments occur, Living Systems Health may review the suitability of ongoing service provision.

Professional Fees

Current fees for individual appointments generally range from:

  • $140–$195 per session depending on service type and duration.

Some services may be available for self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants where appropriate.

Fee arrangements, payment processes, and cancellation fees will be discussed prior to commencement of services.

Record Keeping and Information Sharing

Clinical notes and records are maintained securely in accordance with professional and legal obligations.

Where appropriate and with your consent, reports, letters, or updates may be provided to referring practitioners or other professionals involved in your care.

Your written consent will generally be obtained prior to sharing information unless disclosure is legally required or necessary to reduce serious risk.

You may request access to your records in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.

Referral to Other Services

If your needs fall outside the scope of services offered by Living Systems Health, or if additional support would be beneficial, appropriate referrals or recommendations may be discussed with you collaboratively.

This may include referral to:

  • medical practitioners;

  • psychologists or psychiatrists;

  • crisis or community support services;

  • allied health practitioners; or

  • other specialised supports.
